A Look at the Kalooki 40 Rummy Card Game
Someone with a pre-existing knowledge of Rummy card games will enjoy the opportunities in a game of Kalooki 40. It is a fast-paced and challenging version that allows for use of strategy and skill. Players need to build melds of 40 points before they are laid down, and no selections from the discard pile are available until a meld is placed.
The goal of a game of Kalooki 40 is to be the player who successfully disposes of all of the cards in their hand before anyone else. This is done via two methods:

• Going Kalooki - when a player can gradually lay down melds until all cards are disposed of, and this can be done by building on existing melds or creating new ones. When using Going Out the player must wait until the meld is valued at 40, and then they can put it down; or
• Going Out – when the player is able to lay down all cards in their hand at one time.
